RETROGRADES

It’s been an interesting few months, astrologically speaking. I can’t say it’s been fun. I am watching people become paralyzed by anxiety, struggle with decisions, feel impatient and frustrated because they can’t move forward. I wish there was a simple solution. We have many planets in retrograde: Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Pluto and they are speaking to one another. Jupiter just went direct on May 9,  providing some relief and a knowledge that good prevails and we will come out of this. We all must remain optimistic, even though we are exhausted.

Mars retrograde in Sagittarius does not give us energy, hence the exhaustion. It doesn’t let us move forward in the ways we are accustomed to moving. It requires inordinate patience, which is not Mars’ forte. We want to be going about our business in the usual way, but something doesn’t feel quite right. Our plans feel fragmented, we don’t know if we are on the right path and therefore, we are paralyzed. But Mars is helping us review some aspects of our lives where we need to do some tying up of loose ends. So, what were you doing in October/November 2014? Can you recall? This was the period where Saturn was in Scorpio and affecting a portion of everyone’s chart. We will revisit this in June and July, as Mars passes through that same area of the zodiac. It will help us sweep the rest of those issues from our lives and we will have the ability to free ourselves up through Scorpio’s transformational essence. Mars will go direct on June 29.

Mercury retrograde in Taurus slows down our thinking process, so we can attempt making decisions in a very considered way. But it has been a circle of confusion. “Yes, I’m going ahead with plans. No, I can’t do that. Yes, I must go ahead. Wow, I really can’t do this.” Couple this with the Mars story, and your head is spinning. Makes for difficult sleep, awakening with anxiety. Mercury will direct itself on May 22, we can expect some clarity at that point.

Saturn has been retrograde since the end of March. It is in Sagittarius along with Mars and is caught in a somewhat stressful relationship with Jupiter and Neptune. Those two planets are full of light, optimism and big ideas. They can also be full of poppycock and balderdash. Saturn sits in between questioning both of them, seeing the sincerity of their motives, making practical decisions. We determine what is possible. Saturn will go direct August 13.

Pluto has been retrograde since April 18 and will station direct on September 26. Pluto is coming to the end of its dance with Uranus that we’ve been experiencing since 2011. I have written much about this aspect on this blog. Now is the time for all the efforts we have made in our evolutionary journey to bear fruit. Where is your life changing? How do you see the fruit of your labor? This is an important step forward onto the next phase of our life paths. If you are in a place in your life where you are ready to let your mastery shine, then you have brought forth an awareness of your expertise during this journey.  It’s time to use that expertise for the good of yourself and others.

These are interesting questions to ponder – remembering 2014, thinking about all you’ve experienced since 2011, using your energy wisely. I believe that spending a little time with the answers will give each of us a fresh perspective, some clarity and a new sense of direction.
