THE FIRST ECLIPSE OF THE SEASON

Hello everyone,

Eclipse number one is upon us, it is the first of three eclipses this season. This will occur on Friday June 5th. This is a lunar eclipse with the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Sagittarius. This is what we would consider a South Node eclipse, as the nodes have changed signs in recent months and the Moon here is closer to the South Node even though it is not exact. This usually means we are releasing something from our lives, in this case since Sagittarius is involved, perhaps it is a philosophy, a belief system, something that served in the past but no longer does. Also, it is wise to not let emotions rule the day or the days following. The Moon near the south node can pull us into a vortex of an emotional experience that we don't want to let go of until we get some sort of satisfaction from it which is never the case with the South Node. It is a rather interesting eclipse because three other planets are involved.

Firstly, Venus has joined the Sun and although the aspect was exact on Wednesday the 3rd, this is still close enough for Venus to be considered part of this eclipse. It is best for us to focus on the beauty, the love, the gratitude we have for our life as this is all closer to the North Node which is where fulfillment is. Meanwhile, Mars will be exactly making a challenge to the eclipse from where it is in Pisces now. It will be closely associated with Neptune, which is also close to the eclipse. Mars is an action planet, one that wants to initiate, create, be passionate or even start a war. It is in a peaceful place in Pisces now, but that doesn't mean that Mars isn't active. Mars in Pisces is an unusual combination because when Mars asserts itself here, it can be in an insidious way. Sort of passive aggressive. But also when Mars is in this position, a gentle push can feel like the car is going over the cliff. Mars in this place is a bit of a wildcard and also a bit tricky. When involved in an eclipse, this is exactly when emotions can get the better of us and we react or get hot under the collar. Again it is best to not allow emotions to rule the day.

Neptune involved in the eclipse adds to the Piscean flavor, as it is the ruler of Pisces. It is the planet of vision, illusion, spirituality, dreams, mysticism, healing and the divine. It is up to us how we choose to use it. In this eclipse it can bring either misunderstandings or enlightenment to our dealings with others. It is ideal to use a higher level of awareness in all conversations and experiences with other people during this time. When Neptune connects with the Sun, the Moon, Venus and Mars - the highest and most desirable expression of this is unconditional love. It’s wise to use this energy to be compassionate, supportive, imaginative, artistic, meditative and healing. It’s also a time that helps us each tap into our internal creativity - the part of us that can create the life we want. This is the best use of the Mars/Neptune energy challenging the eclipse. We are being asked to go deeply within and find that space which embraces the unknown, the nothingness, the place of the void. When we are within that space, any and all things are possible and we can become deeply creative. This eclipse carries an elusive quality to it and if one attempts to grasp at anything, it can evaporate. Instead, allow yourself to be taken into the flow, be open and listen, let the energy surprise you and tune in to what you would love to create now.

This is the first eclipse of three in the next month, plus the rest of June promises to be a time of many shifts as 3 planets will change direction mid-month, so stay tuned!

Warm wishes,

Deb
