FEBRUARY 2022 ASTROLOGY

February is full of excitement and brings astrological cycles that are positive and inspiring. Much of the activity takes place in the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius, as we begin the month with four planets in Capricorn while we are experiencing the transit of Sun in Aquarius. Where Capricorn encourages a steady climb upward, Aquarius asks us to look towards the future and a more risk taking attitude. A New Moon greets us immediately at the start of February, on the 1st. This lunation takes place at 12 degrees Aquarius. This engages in the themes of liberation and restriction as the New Moon moves between Uranus and Saturn which reminds us of 2021. Think back to themes you may have experienced during last year and how you navigated these energies. This is also the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Water Tiger, asking us to flow with passion and take action. Tigers represent courage, it’s time to move forward and act upon projects and ideas we have been building on for a while.

Mercury will turn direct on February 3rd in Capricorn, clearing out all the retrogrades until May, bringing some relief. On the same day, the Sun in Aquarius will conjoin Saturn. We begin a slow and cautious move forward after the retrogrades of Venus and Mercury have ended. Since both planets were engaged with Uranus and Pluto at some point in their cycles, we are still processing from the highly transformative experiences. Recognizing where we have been emotionally is key, how have relationships changed since early December? It’s important to take one step at a time as we move forward, since we wish to be certain of how to proceed after such intense changes. There is no need to rush or force decisions. Meanwhile, slow moving Venus in Capricorn allows her male counterpart, Mars, to catch up and they begin a magnificent journey together first in Capricorn, then in Aquarius that will last until late March. This ushers in a great time for relationships, passions and connecting with others, no matter if personal or professional. It’s also helpful to connect to one’s own balance of masculine and feminine energies. Take a few moments to feel your energies and how much is spent in each area. How easy is it for you to assert yourself? Do you step back and allow yourself to receive easily, instead of always pushing to get results?

Mercury will make its 3rd and last conjunction in Capricorn with Pluto on February 11th. Mercury joined Pluto in late December, then again on January 28th. Our minds have been opened, with new ideas and thoughts coming forwards. What process occurred that gave you an epiphany, an “aha” moment? Where in your life were you able to have a breakthrough? Then Mercury will re-enter Aquarius on February 14th, reviewing where we’ve been since the 1st of the year.

A Full Moon in fiery Leo on February 16th, with Sun in Aquarius brings in more passionate attitudes. Simultaneously, Venus and Mars meet exactly in conjunction on the same day, encouraging verve, motivation and much positive energy. We willingly move towards that which we desire. We aren’t afraid to reach for who and what we wish to arrive in our lives. This is a rare conjunction and journey of the two relationship planets that may surprise us and inspire us to be more confident. We can enjoy these dynamics for the rest of the month.

The Sun enters Pisces on February 18th where Jupiter is currently visiting, encouraging trust in ourselves, our intuition and the universe. Later in April we will experience a beautiful transit of Venus, Jupiter and Neptune that should encourage us to have faith in life and ourselves.
