NEW MOON IN VIRGO BRINGS BIG CHANGES

Greetings astrodarlings!

So much astrology is happening in just the last 24 hours! It is the New Moon at 18° Virgo, which is a special New Moon as it is the one that escorts the eclipse period out the door. This is the time when we begin to feel lighter, we feel less intensity, we are wrapping up all the missions that we have been working on in these last six weeks. I feel that these eclipses brought high level emotions, tides of rocky energy and all sorts of troublemakers coming out of the basement. It really was a time that caused us to observe ourselves and others in a whole different light. We saw things that were likely difficult to acknowledge about ourselves and perhaps we made a vow to change what we didn't like. It was enlightening, to say the least. I hope it was healing, too.

The New Moon also gives a nudge to Pluto in Aquarius, asking for our renewal to emerge as the light begins to come back. We can look at where we've been in these last six weeks and most likely see that there has been a great deal of transformation crammed into this time. Now we can go forward with wisdom after having learned a lot through this process. A New Moon ritual is always welcome and we do have the days following the lunation to set intentions, do a space cleanse and decide what we wish to create now.

On the same day, Uranus began its retrograde phase in early Gemini. Whenever an outer planet stations and changes direction, we can expect some topsy-turvy events to occur. Uranus brings surprises, bizarre twists, creative breakthroughs and chaos. With Uranus we can always expect the unexpected. You may recall that Uranus was involved with the Lunar Eclipse two weeks ago, so its energies are still speaking to us as we close the eclipse period. Was there a process that started during the eclipse season for you that also factors in to this New Moon? Uranus will be retrograde in Gemini until next February, asking us to step back and reflect on our old thought patterns and beliefs that no longer serve us. Also, are there words you need to say that you’ve been putting off? Do you need to be more honest with yourself or others? Whatever part of your astrological chart contains Gemini is getting a real shake-up from this activity. During this time until February we will be reviewing what's happened in our lives since the end of April. It may appear that random events have continued to show up in our lives. But rest assured they are all connected and there is a deeper message for us there. A little self exploration will go a long way.

That’s not all - Mercury and Venus have changed signs on the same day as all of this other activity. Mercury has entered the sign of Libra, increasing our curiosity in all things artistic and aesthetic. Mercury also helps us find a diplomatic way of expressing ourselves. Meanwhile, Venus has entered Scorpio where she will spend quite a bit of time. This is really the time of the dark goddess, where we can explore the underworld of our emotions and relationships and the unseen realms of what is truly driving our desires and passions. Venus will spend the rest of September in Scorpio, then start her retrograde on October 3rd and travel retrograde in Scorpio until October 25th. Venus will then re-enter Libra, her sign of rulership and turn direct there on November 13th. She will be back in Scorpio in early December to complete her visit to that sign in early January. This is an opportunity to get to know ourselves better, what we really want for our lives. During Venus’ back and forth journey between Libra and Scorpio it is a great time to sit with yourself and define what you desire, what pleases you. Venus only retrogrades once every year and a half and she hasn’t been through this particular journey since late 2018. It is one of her more interesting journeys as she moves back and forth from her sign of rulership in Libra to her sign of detriment in Scorpio.

From just one day to the next, we have encountered many changes that are bringing us to new possibilities. It’s the perfect moment for some deep self reflection, clearing out cobwebs leading to opening of new doors. You are always in the driver’s seat, where would you like to see yourself going now?
